The Veil Is Thin — Trusting Your Inner Voice in a Noisy World

Peace and love, Soul Tribe.

Let me ask you something before we go any further. When was the last time you trusted a thought that came from inside you — and truly knew how to recognize your inner voice above everything else competing for your attention?

If you had to think about that for a moment, this article is for you.

We have been trained and conditioned from the time we were small children to trust everything and everyone that exists outside of ourselves. Every authority figure. Every institution. Every expert with a credential and a platform. And in the process of learning to trust all of that — we slowly, quietly, almost imperceptibly — stopped trusting the one voice that was with us before any of them arrived.

The voice within.

Think about a child for a moment. A young child has not yet been told what is and is not possible. They have not yet been handed someone else's limitations to carry. That still inner voice in a child is so pure and so strong that it does not have to fight against years of past experience or rational thinking. It simply speaks and the child listens. We all did once. Before someone told us to stop daydreaming. Before someone said pay attention when I am talking to you. Before the schooling and the man-made education began filling our heads with information — not real knowledge, not lived wisdom, but information — and we started building our entire lives on that foundation.

We built our house on sand. And then we wondered why it kept shifting.

The inner voice was never gone. It was just buried. And April is the month we start digging it back up.

The answer you have been searching for outside of yourself has been

living inside you the whole time. The veil is thin. You just have to get

quiet enough to see through it.

Here is what I want to give you today. Not theory. Not philosophy. Practical ways to recognize the inner voice that is meant to guide you — the same ways I use in my own life every single day.

Here is what I want to give you today — five practical ways on how to recognize your inner voice even when the world around you will not quiet down."

1. Bring Everything Back to Your Breath

There is something profoundly powerful about the breath that lives in this body. It carries messages meant specifically for you — to guide you, or to guide others through you. Most of us breathe without awareness. We take it for granted because it happens automatically. But when you bring conscious attention to your breath, something shifts.

When I pray I acknowledge my breath first. I inhale slowly and exhale even more slowly, and as my heart rate settles I begin to hear that still voice in the space between the inhale and the exhale. That space — that tiny pause between the breath coming in and the breath going out — that is where the voice lives. Try it right now. Inhale for five counts. Exhale for five counts. Wait in the space between. Ask your question. Then listen. The answer rarely shouts. It arrives quietly in that pause.

2. Give Your Mind Permission to Simply Exist

The inner voice cannot compete with a mind that is running a to-do list. When I give my mind genuine permission to turn off — not to solve, not to plan, not to worry — and simply exist without obligations to meet or tasks to complete, that is when the voice comes forward.

This is what meditation actually is. Not emptying your mind of all thought — that is not realistic for most of us. It is creating enough internal space that the voice does not have to fight for room. Even ten minutes of genuine stillness in the morning before the demands of the day begin can change everything. Sit. Breathe. Do not try to receive anything. Just make the space. The voice knows what to do with it.

3. Ground Yourself to the Earth

This one changed my life when I truly understood it. We are electromagnetic creators. The heavens are electric. The earth is magnetic. And when you place your bare feet directly on the ground — grass, soil, sand, earth — something happens in your body that science is only beginning to catch up to what our ancestors already knew.

Walking barefoot on the ground allows the inner voice to come with remarkable ease. The noise quiets. The body settles. And the clarity that follows is not manufactured — it is received. Your grandparents knew this. They took walks to find their answers. They sat on porches. They put their hands in garden soil. Movement and earth connection are not just good for the body. They are a direct line to the voice within.

4. Ignore the Distractions and Trust What Arrives

The inner voice grows louder the more you listen to it. That is the truth nobody tells you. Most people are waiting for the voice to get loud enough to compete with the noise of their daily life before they decide to trust it. But that is backwards. The voice does not get louder first. You get quieter first. And then the voice rises to meet you.

Every time you choose to ignore a distraction — put down the phone, step away from the scroll, turn off the background noise — you are signaling to that inner voice that you are available. And it responds. It becomes clearer. More consistent. More trustworthy. Not because it changed. Because you finally started listening.

5. Ask a Question and Wait for the Answer

This is the practice that ties everything together. Pose a question within yourself — a real question, something you have been carrying. Then breathe in to the count of five. Exhale to the count of five. And wait. Do not force an answer. Do not analyze. Just wait in the exhale and listen for what arrives.

The answer rarely comes as a booming voice. It comes as a knowing. A settling. A sense of which direction feels true even before your rational mind can explain why. That is the voice. And the more you practice responding to it — even in small things, even when it does not make complete logical sense — the stronger that channel becomes.

We were perfectly created. Everything we need is already inside us.

The voice was never missing. It was waiting for us to come home to

ourselves.

We no longer need to hold on to doctrines handed to us by those who may have never learned to listen to their own inner voice. We were perfectly created. Everything that we need — every answer, every direction, every piece of wisdom required for this life — is already within us. It was placed there before we took our first breath and it has been there through every season since. Your grandparents walked to find their answers. Walk. Your ancestors sat in stillness. Sit. Your body knows how to breathe you into clarity. Breathe. The earth knows how to ground you back to yourself. Go outside. Take off your shoes. Put your feet on the ground and listen.

I encourage you Soul Tribe — trust the inner voice. Not the rational mind that has been shaped by everyone else's expectations. Not the fear that has been masquerading as wisdom. That still voice that has been trying to guide you all along — the one that has never once steered you wrong even when you refused to follow it — that is the voice worth trusting.

The veil is thin. The voice is real. And it has been waiting for you to get quiet enough to hear it.

Love always,

Aunty Charmaine
