My Body Called a Meeting, and I Finally Showed Up. listening to my body

Click Each Image.. It Will Take You Somewhere Amazing!

Soultribe, let’s tell the truth today —sometimes the body whispers for years before it ever screams.

And mine? She had been clearing her throat for decades.

I spent my early womanhood in a tug-of-war with her. Weight I couldn’t explain, exhaustion I couldn’t fix, cycles that felt like betrayal. I thought I was doing everything right — eating “okay,” staying busy, keeping the smile, keeping the peace. But my body was keeping score the whole time.

PCOS had been hiding behind every miscarriage, every surge of weight I couldn’t shed. And instead of listening, I did what most of us do — I pushed through, prayed harder, and punished myself in silence.

Because nobody tells you that discipline without embodiment is just control in disguise.

A woman sits quietly on a green park bench overlooking a peaceful lake, surrounded by tall trees and soft sunlight filtering through the branches. She wears a light blue outfit and a backpack, gazing out over the water in deep reflection. The moment feels calm, introspective, and spiritual — symbolizing stillness, surrender, and listening for divine guidance, echoing the OK Universe, I Hear You blog’s theme of learning to hear the Universe in silence. The Universe Speaks Through the Body... listening to my body

When I finally slowed down — not by choice, but because my body refused to cooperate — I realized this wasn’t a punishment. It was a meeting I had been avoiding.

The agenda?

Embodiment. Discipline. Listening.

See, I had built a life around being dependable. Wife, mother, “everything auntie,” business owner, counselor, nurturer. But I wasn’t dependable to myself. I treated my body like an afterthought, an accessory to my purpose, instead of the vessel that made purpose possible.

It wasn’t until I got sick — the kind of sick that strips away the illusion of control — that I understood what divine accountability feels like. When your body calls a meeting, you don’t get to delegate attendance.

You show up. Fully.

The Shift: From Surviving to Stewarding

I stopped chasing perfection and started practicing partnership I Am listening to my body

I began with what I could manage:one tea, one breath, one choice at a time.

My daughter and I started researching herbs together — learning our lineage of healing, not just memorizing trends. I found comfort in the rhythm of steeping tea and whispering gratitude into the steam.

Shashandra became my nervous system’s guardian. Maca root became my hormone harmonizer — blended gently into matcha or green tea on my cycle days. These weren’t magic fixes; they were sacred agreements between me and my body: “I see you. I’m trying.”

I learned that strengthening the nervous system wasn’t luxury; it was survival.Because as you age, life’s blows hit deeper — and without fortification, recovery takes longer.

So I built rituals of restoration:

  • Spiritual baths to release what the day left behind.

  • Alkaline water, prayed over, to remind myself that intention transforms even the ordinary.

  • Barefoot grounding on the grass at sunrise, crystal in hand, reminding my spirit that

I belong to the earth, not to burnout.

A group of women walk and explore a wooded trail on a sunny day, surrounded by tall trees and fresh spring growth. One woman leans against a large fallen tree trunk, while others continue up the path together. The scene feels grounded, communal, and alive — symbolizing strength, sisterhood, and shared healing through nature. It reflects the OK Universe, I Hear You blog’s theme of connection, growth, and walking through life’s obstacles together. The Soultribe Media logo appears in the lower corner.

The Realization: The Body is the Temple of the Multiverse

Your body isn’t a problem to fix. It’s the altar where your spirit takes communion.

How can we receive divine energy if the vessel meant to hold it is running on empty?I had to stop waiting for health to feel holy. It already was.

So I began blessing my water. Touching my skin with love instead of criticism.Praying over my organs like they were sacred elders doing the work of keeping me alive.

Every affirmation became a sermon:

“I bless this body for showing up even when I didn’t.”“ I release guilt for the years I ignored her.”“I am home in myself.”

The Practice: Meeting Yourself Where You Are

This isn’t about perfection, Soultribe — it’s about presence.

You don’t have to overhaul your life overnight. Just promise to attend the meetings your body calls.

Here’s how you can start today:

  1. Listen daily. Pause before your day begins. Place your hand over your heart and ask, “What do you need from me today?” Then actually follow through.

  2. Move with intention. Walk barefoot, stretch gently, or dance — not for calories, but for connection.

  3. Nourish your nervous system. Add adaptogens like shashandra, ashwagandha, or maca. Drink herbal teas that calm your spirit.

  4. Bless what you consume. Water, food, even air — speak life into them. Words carry vibration.

  5. Rest without guilt. Stillness is not laziness; it’s recalibration.
